Topic: SPL Channel One into Baby Face Pro

Hi-

I see that I can get an a/d converter with a channel one that has optical outputs.
If I recall, I can use the ADAT optical input on the baby face pro for outboard preamp? Yes?

Is there that much difference in sound quality doing it this way
rather than just using analog out to the xlr 1 input and setting gain to zero in total mix?

In other words, is it worth the extra money for the A/D card in the Channel One?

Any help most appreciated...thanks!

Bob

Of course, what else ?! This is the purpose for ADAT, to be able to connect preamps and ad/da converter digitally.

The AD/DA conversion quality you are asking for happens on the SPL- not on the RME device.
You might get responses quicker when asking this on SPL user forum.
