Topic: Need Help

My old Notebook is broken
Can someone tell me a good Thunderbolt 3 notebook between 1000 and 1300 euros as well as the recommended adapters and Windows 10 version which work with my rme Fireface 400?
Or are there more points that matter?

Befor somebody will upset. I know that there are a few topics referred to my problem. But they did not help me. I do not need a solution that might works, because I only have money to buy one Notebook.

Re: Need Help

Windows or Apple based (though I doubt that an Apple solution will be that low).

Re: Need Help

Iam not interrested in an Apple solution. Ideally somebody can give me list of Thunderbolt 3 Windows Notebooks that are not expensiver than 1300 Euro and work with my fireface.

Re: Need Help

This is a missunderstanding. Befor i buy a Thunderbolt 3 Notebook i have to insure that it works with my Fireface. I don't need a  page of any TB3 Notebooks.

Re: Need Help

After seeing many responses maybe it will serve you well somehow.

If I were you I would narrow the selection for a lenovo laptop to get higher likeliness for quality and usually also lower DPC latencies. There will only be a few models which fit in price and features. Check reviews, whether they contain useful information about low DPC values and whether the performance is stable or whether CPU clock goes down because of heat.

This way you should be able to do a good selection.

Then order, test, keep if it works, send back if it sucks.

Re: Need Help

If you want guarantees about compatibility and performance, look to the DAW computer builders in Germany.

For instance, this seem to be in your price range and includes Thunderbolt 3:

DELL laptops are not so good. BIOS issues, blower issues.

Not preferred, I would better look at Lenovos.

MC has also issues with the BIOS if I remember right.

I would check reviews of these Lenovo models, which have an Akku that can be replaced:

Here an overview regarding the different Lenovo Laptop series:

ThinkPad T – These are durable, efficient laptops. Sacrificing portability for ruggedness, the flagship T580 is built to survive in extreme environments and has a battery life of up to 27 hours.
ThinkPad P – Like the T series, these are mobile workstations, albeit with a bit more power and a slightly higher cost on the whole. The pricey P52 is Lenovo’s first VR-ready certified workstation.
