Topic: 7.1 WDM resets to Stereo after Reboot

Hello everyone,

every time I reboot my Windows 10 system the surround configuration for the AN 1/2 WDM output of my Babyface Pro gets lost and reverts to stereo.

Is this a known issue?
Does anyone know a fix?

Driver is the latest v1.168 from June 2019.

I have found some threads where users of gaming sound cards and W10 reported similar issues with their WDM devices configured to process 5.1 / 7.1. But no convenient fix, sadfully.

The issue only occurs when I perform a reboot. Sleep / energy saving is fine.

You are confused about different issues. The Windows USB driver was fixed long ago and has no problem in remembering the speaker state. It even supports all speaker modes. I just re-tested that with a Babyface Pro.

If your Windows is in English or German language setting it will work unless there is a basic Windows problem to access and write to the registry. You might have limited rights to do so. Sometimes Windows is screwed and the rights for part of the registry got lost.
