Topic: HDSPe AIO PCIe Installation Question

Hi all,

I'm in the process of building a new audio PC and I'm trying to figure out if my HDSPe AIO is compatible with a motherboard that I'm thinking about buying.

Here are the specifications of the expansion slots:

1 x PCI Express x16 slot, running at x16 (PCIEX16)
1 x PCI Express x16 slot, running at x8 (PCIEX8)
1 x PCI Express x16 slot, running at x4 (PCIEX4)
3 x PCI Express x1 slots
(All of the PCI Express slots conform to PCI Express 3.0 standard.)

Can I drop the HDSPe AIO in one of the x1 slots? Or does it require a x4 slot?

This is the motherboard I'm looking at: https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/Z3 … -rev-10#kf

Thanks much for any help.

Use the Search at the top, type in 'Z390'. It gives you all the infos that are available.

Re: HDSPe AIO PCIe Installation Question

Hi MC, thank you for the reply. Respectfully, I did a search for Z390, and none of the results answered my question. Basically I just need to know if a PCIe x1 slot is sufficient to plug the card in.

Re: HDSPe AIO PCIe Installation Question

All RME cards do not need more than a PCIe x1 socket.

Re: HDSPe AIO PCIe Installation Question

Now that is strange - don't find it myself anymore. Anyway, the card should work in any slot, and usually does, but every motherboard is different and has its own squirks, so just try it.
