Topic: RME ADI-8 pro psu voltages

Hi there folks,

I'm troubleshooting crackling noises from an old adi-8 pro. Does anybody know what the psu output voltages should be?

After adjusting potmeter to the setting with the least crackling noises my voltages are:

-15,7
+16,0
+5,25

Thanks!

When adjusting as close as possible to the setpoint values the crackling noise gets worse. Maybe the +/- 15V supplies must be at equal amplitude relative to ground. In that case the psu needs a repair or replacement. Any ideas?

Mine needed a replacement but it's 5v was dead. Digital side did not work. Yours sounds like 15V issue. If you know what to do they are easy to repair but I don't. Replacement was a little under 100€ so a diy is worth it.

OK. I did find lifted solder pads on one of the big resistors but fixing that didn't change the issue. Guess I'll replace the electrolytics to new low esr ones nd see where that takes it. Thanks for the hints and help vinark!
