Re: SFP module for 12 MIc

You got all the necessary information in the other thread already. Direct Out will work. The unlock code of the other is most probably only needed when using the SFP module in a Ferrofish product - you have to ask them if that is the case.

Re: SFP module for 12 MIc

If you want to save money...

These two Digitus SFPs with universal firmware will most likely also do for a fraction of the price (~25%) of the FlexOptix (for Anna-Lisa) for €98.

These two products from Digitus only differ in terms of operating temperatures. I would take the more robust as it is not much more expensive.

https://www.amazon.de/dp/B007HL300C/ref=emc_b_5_t €18,67
https://www.digitus.info/de/produkte/ak … /dn-81000/
0-70 °C

https://www.amazon.de/dp/B006E1YLM2/ref=emc_b_5_t €24,75
https://www.digitus.info/de/produkte/ak … /dn-81010/
-40 - +85 °C

In terms of SFP selection you have to look for two things:

- firmware versions which indicate most compatibility to different vendors. Some SFPs have special firmware. Data Center customers e.g. needs different SFP/SFP+ for Cisco and Brocade switches ...

- price, in this area you pay sometimes a lot if the SFP is vendor certified (Cisco, HP). Prices over €1000 up to €5000 are not unusual. Many customers, even Data Center Customers, buy 3rd party as they regard it as unnecessary voodoo and in a datacenter you have redundancies for important connections anyway

Simply try it out .. like in many fields nowadays you need to look and check.

EDIT: Or save time and take the Direct Out product which is manufactured from FlexOptix (Darmstadt, DE), which you can regard now as preapproved by Matthias.

It looks that this german brand concentrates on delivering products with universal firmware that is most compatible to many products.

Re: SFP module for 12 MIc

Simply look closely to the product id on the picture in the Thomann Web offer:
S.1303.2M.D

Then you will find two products:
S.1303.2M.D - https://www.flexoptix.net/en/sfp-fx-tra … 3084=18261
and
S.1303.2M.DI - https://www.flexoptix.net/en/sfp-fx-tra … 7989=47882

The I stands for "industrial version" which has a higher temperature range: -40°C - 85°C vs 0-70.

But you seem to need the pricey flexbox in order to configure it? Maybe that's why the DirectOut is more expensive...

Hmmm .. thanks for the info. Strange, on Thomann Website this is not being mentioned.

I would ask FlexOptix on that topic (they surely know more about their product than Thomann) and otherwise simply get one from Amazon like the Digitus.
