Topic: How to route software (Cubase, VLC, etc) to various channels in TM?

I would like that my volume from Cubase, VLC and other software is controlled by different channels in TM. Now everything goes to AN 1/2 (which goes to main). How can I have one software to AN 1/2, another to AN 3/4, etc. so that I can have different volumes?

you need to select the output channel in your software. if software does not support such an assignment audio will go to the default system output. in cubase you'd be able to set it per track or per bus.

Assuming you're using a recent version of Cubase, go to Studio > Audio Connections and add busses, mono or stereo, then assign to your RME channels.  A handy feature is you can save different configurations as presets.

On older versions of Cubase I think the Audio Connections was under Devices not Studio.  The switch was around version 9.
