Topic: Connecting RME FS with turntable and integrated amp

Hi everyone,

I’m considering getting RME ADI-2 Pro FS R and here are 2 questions:

1. Connecting Turntable to RME FS using an RCA output of a phono preamp (Schiit Mani). Will I need some sort of special RCA - XLR cable or one of these adapters will work: Hosa GXM-133 RCA to XLR3M Adaptor https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000068O4D/re … amp;psc=1.

I want to make sure I’m getting best quality possible out of the turntable/phono preamp.

2. Connecting RME to my Rega Brio integrated preamp to run passive speakers. Do you think it will be a good idea in the first place? I’ve seen people on this forum using RME Pro FS as a preamp feeding in a power amp. I only have the Brio so my question is would it be feasible using RME’s output feeding in one of the Brio’s line outputs or it will result in loss of quality? In this case would you suggest a power amp that pairs well with the RME FS under $2000. If I should connect it to Brio, what connection/cable should I use?

Thanks in advance.

Re: Connecting RME FS with turntable and integrated amp

Look here for setting up the configuration:

Furthermore I'd suggest to use a Y-splitter to connect the Schiit Mani to both, ADI-2 Pro's analog input AND directly to the Rega Brio.

This way you could bypass the ADI-2 Pro in the signal chain if you don't need it's DSP functions.

If you have the Rega Brio R, you could connect ADI-2 Pro in the Tape Rec/Play path, this would make it usable for all sources.

The Hosa-Adapter looks reasonable.
