Topic: ADI2 DAC FS - How to distinguish hardware revision on unit itself

Hello.

My question regarding ADI2 DAC is simple. How to distinguish hardware revision on unit itself? I could have one and I am not sure what is its revision. How to distinguish last hardware revision (new DAC chip etc.) from older revisions? Reseller is not able answer this question. Is it possible according to unit serial number?

Regards.

Marek

Re: ADI2 DAC FS - How to distinguish hardware revision on unit itself

You can’t.

If you have larger remote and a sd ld filter and option for amber metre display you have ak4493 chip.

Revisions of the pcb cannot be identified from the outer case. There were 3 revisions 3.1. 3.2   3.3

V 3.3 changed capacitors from Nichicon to Würth Elektronik caps .

The latest chip offers the option:
I/O / Output / Settings / DA Filter: "SD LD" = "Short Delay Low Dispersion"

See manual page 23.

Update
Mc_rme. Quoted on a forum  that ak4493 started with pcb 3.3
So if you have new remote and filter you have 3.3. With the Würth caps.
