Topic: ADI-2 and windows music app and EQ questions

Hi!

New ADI-2 owner here.

I had a few questions.

I have been listening to flac files on my computer through things like VLC and Foobar. When I got the ADI-2 I noticed that the kHz display in the lower right corner wouldn't update with the change of files. I ended up downloading a trial version of Audirvana that lets me change to ASIO MADIface and now I can see the kHz change based on files and the flac files sounds significantly better than the other music players.

This is good and bad. Good because the sound is great and the ADI-2 is working like it should bad because I use an LCD-X with EQ setting through APO. Not a problem because the ADI-2 has EQ! Except I use 10 bands and ADI-2 uses 5.

My questions

Are there any free music apps that allow the ADI-2 to function properly (updating the kHz correctly) that can be used in conjunction with the APO eq?

Is using ASIO the only way for the ADI-2 to know what the file kHz is playing?

Is there another way to send music to ASIO I am missing that maybe can be done on a system wide setting?

Are there any plans to update the ADI-2 EQ to have more bands? Like 10?
Here is my EQ setting for the LCD-X in ADI-2
Band 1: G +3 F120 Q1.4
Band 2: G-2 F470 Q1.4
Band 3: G+7 F3.2k Q1.1
Band 4: G-3.5 F5.5K Q3
Band 5: G+5 F9.5K Q5

It sounds good but not as good as my 10 band EQ in APO which is
APO LCD-X EQ
Band 1: G +3 F120 Q1.4
Band 2: G-2 F250 Q1.41
Band 3: G-2 F700 Q1.7
Band 4: G+3.5 F1700 Q1.5
Band 5: G+7 F3200 K Q1.5
Band 6: G+6 F4200 K4
Band 7: G-3.5 F5500 K3
Band 8: +5 F9500 K6
Band 9: -1.5 F11600 K3
Band 10: 0 F16500 K0

Anyone have an EQ for LCD-x or HD6xx in the ADI-2 they really like?

Re: ADI-2 and windows music app and EQ questions

Please read the manual. Driver-less operation is explained in there. And 'WASAPI exclusive' has been discussed in this forum several times (driver-less operation as well).
