Topic: Issue with IEM jack: Need to insert it very slowly

Hi,

I have RME ADI2 DAC, v2.

It seems I need to insert my iem 3.5mm jack slowly. Otherwise, there will be no sound - even if it shows the output is IEM.

Is my adi2 iem port faulty?

Thanks.

Re: Issue with IEM jack: Need to insert it very slowly

Is that a 4-pin connector or a normal 3-pin?

The contact of the IEM socket that signals an inserted connector might be unusual in its behaviour, but the fact that the display still switches to IEM might indicate a firmware issue. We will check this.

Its a normal 3 pin connector.

Thank you

Hi Matthias,

I turned off the unit, left for lunch and when I’m back to try it again, it’s now working fine. Weird.

It seems the problem resolved itself.

Thanks for your response!

Re: Issue with IEM jack: Need to insert it very slowly

Hi Matthias, I'm encountering exactly the same issue again with IEM input.
I have to slowly insert the 3.5mm IEM jack in to hear a sound.

I don't think there's any issue with the relay because in both cases (slowly or fast inserting), I can hear a click.

No issue with 6.35mm. Only 3.5mm IEM.

I tried to restart but this time it doesn't resolve itself.

We checked and have no explanation. To fix this we need the unit to find out what is going wrong.

How do I do this?
I assume I need to send it back to you guys in Germany?

I thought had replied yesterday already...

Sending it back might not work for countries far away (costs, customs, time etc). Better to contact the local distributor first.
