Topic: stereo\ multi channel when watching concerts

hi to all

i know it maybe a dumb question for some of you , but im not very technical guy and
using the adi 2 dac just as a dac in my home stereo system (and babyface before it for many years also with great satisfaction) 
pc->DAC->pre->power>speakers

- what happen when i play concerts videos through VLC ?  (when the audio track is 5.1\7.1 and so on)
- what happen when i play blu-ray disc through leawoo player ?(when the audio track is 5.1\7.1 and so on)

what do the DAC actually receive and what is suppose to be the correct audio track to choose if stereo isn't available

software (such as your VLC, or operating system) will downmix the 5.1/7.1 to stereo and send it to your dac.
in the software you should be able to set the channel configuration for the downmix.
