Topic: Eject Dac?

Hello forum,

I was using a pc running windows 2008r2, connected via usb to an ADI2 dac (the second akm version).
This pc has been running for about 7 years, so: it got 7 years of incremental upgrades.

In this pc the ADI2 was never considered an "ejectable" device, so I never got the icon "eject the dac" in the status bar.
Now I bought a new pc, reinstalled the same OS, same software, same driver version, etc., but this time the ADI2 is considered a removable device so when I turn it on, it shows up in the tray. However -experimentally- even if I don't eject is explicitly (e.g. when it turns off automatically after a while), Windows doesn't seem to complain.

Questions:
1) what's the expected behaviour? is the ADI2 a removable device or not?
2) if so, can/should I change it?
3) my explanation is that this is caused by installing _directly_ the latest driver (in the original pc, the driver was upgraded maybe 3 or 4 times). is this correct?

thanks
MH

That's what shows up for me. This is on a 2 month old new install of Windows 10.
