Topic: DC plug with locking ring

My new adi2-DAC fs has a DC plug with a locking ring. Because I want to use my very good 12V lineair PSU i have a question about the plug. The standard cable of the PSU is a bit too loose (however it works) but hasn't the locking ring.
I can make the cable myself but don't know what plug I need.

1. I guess it is a 2.5mm plug, or is it a 2.1mm plug?
2. I found plugs with a locking mechanism at Mouser.

Could this be the one I need?

Thanks so much

Re: DC plug with locking ring

It should be 2.1

Re: DC plug with locking ring

Thank you for this information. I did a search before I posted, but didn't find the topics you mention.
So I guess the 2.1mm lockable plug will work.
Thanks again for you effort.

If the DC plug is a loose fit you can bend the centre pin with something with a very small tip like a safety pin or a jewellers screwdriver to make it a tighter fit. Either that or you can buy adaptors cheap on eBay or Amazon.

Don't worry about the locking mechanism, you don't need it. The plug in the RME just acts like a regular jack plug, the locking mechanism is optional.
