Topic: ADI-2 DAC FS - AES rate vs SPDIF rate in Class Compliant mode
Hi MC
For ADI-2 FS DAC (not Pro) clocking, can you please confirm:
Digital coax RCA input = "AES rate" ?
TOSlink input = "SPDIF rate" ?
Thanks!

Where?
"AES rate" and "SPDIF rate" for HQPlayer "inputs"
I get some stuttering issues when using "SPDIF rate" with digital coax input. But "AES rate" works fine with digital coax input.
I was expecting "SPDIF rate" to cover both TOSLink and digital coax.
Isn't that a question for the author of HQPlayer? There are no such things in our driver.

Even when I connect ADI-2 to VolumioOS on Raspberry Pi 4, it shows under hardware mixer options, the same "AES rate" and "SPDIF rate"
So you are talking about Class Compliant mode from the start?
So you are talking about Class Compliant mode from the start?
Yes
So "AES rate" is applicable to digital coax RCA input?
Or "SPDIF rate" should be applicable to TOSlink also?
These terms must be familiar, since they show up in HQPlayer and VolumioOS independently.
They are RME driver terms?
There is no (RME) driver in Class Compliant mode, and these terms are not familiar to me. I have to check this.
these are common options info in CC mode. RME can hide it from its usb implementation (just modify your firmware to disable it). User can also ignore those options.

As per my opening post, this is not an "issue" so of course I can ignore it.
But I'd like to understand why, when I have both 2 different TOSlink and digital coax sources playing at the same time, to ADI-2 USB output, why digital coax input stutters with "SPDIF rate" but does not with "AES rate" selected in HQPlayer
I have already guess what is happening but that's the point of my queries in post #1
Digital coax RCA input = "AES rate" ?
TOSlink input = "SPDIF rate" ?
I think this is correct but would like RME to confirm
Again, this is not a problem/issue. Just understanding.
