Topic: Best Practice - Leave On All the Time or Turn Off When Not in Use?

Just picked up a UFX II and am unable to find a recommendation in the manual. For longevity of the device, is it better to leave it on all the time or turn it off when it's not in use?

Thanks in advance for any insight you can provide.

You don't have to be more careful with it than with any other electrical device.

Switching it on and off puts the most stress on the electronics, but who would switch such a device on and off every minute?

Leaving it on all the time has a minimal wear on some electronic components, but devices can still last 5, 10 or 20 years.

Just don't make it too complicated. Just turn it off when you think you won't use it for >1-2h or whatever, in current times everybody wants to save energy because of higher prices for energy.

But I would recommend you to use a power strip with surge protection and mains filter.

My Digiface, being USB-powered, is switched on and off along with the PC, several times a day. Is that bad for it?
