Topic: Possible to use stock XLR->TRS cable for unbalanced connection?

Hi,

I need to connect a guitar pedal to UFX+, HW output Analog 1/2 (the output with XLR connectors).

Not 100% sure, could I use a stock XLR -> TRS cable for such an unbalanced connection?
Any negative side effect?

As mentioned in the manual - Pin 3 should be disconnected as chances are that R will be shorted to GND within the peadal.

Thanks, Matthias.

Am I right in thinking that it is safe to just try it out?
If something shorted out from the pedal, would it be noticeable?
A poorer quality would be unfavorable if you would notice it later.

I expect the pedal not to need full/max level, that would help with distortion, and yes, nothing will break, so you could try it.
