Topic: Fireface 800--flashing lights and clicking at startup

Recently when I power on the Fireface all the lights flash and it makes a click-click-click sound for about 30 secs before starting up normally. When experimenting I found that that the issue still happens even when the firewire cord is unplugged.  I'm not using SMPTE, MIDI, USB or any of the other digital connections. 

If anybody knows what is causing this and where it can be repaired in Los Angeles please let me know.

Search this forum for 'Fireface 800 power supply'. You need a new one.

I had this issue, ordered the replacement power supply, installed it myself. Result: everything worked like new.
