Topic: 6,35 mm or 3,5 mm phone output to hook up my 2nd speakers

Hello.
I'm looking forward to connect a mono mixcube as my secondary speaker.
Do you recommend using the 6,35 or 3,5 mm phone output?

I read in the manual related to the low impedance 3,5mm headphone output:
"Their unbalanced output signal is - in terms of quality - identical to the ones at the XLR line outputs, but lower in level."

Does this mean using the 3,5 mm as output to the XLR mixcube input is the better choice?

I would love to use both phone outputs: One for the mono mixcube and the other for my headphones.
Would this be possible and volume wise, 6.35 for headphones and 3.5 for 2nd speaker?

Thanks for helping out!

Re: 6,35 mm or 3,5 mm phone output to hook up my 2nd speakers

If you are talking about the Babyface pro fs then the headphone outputs are not controllable individually. So you could do it but you would need to turn if the speakers or unplug them if you wanted to listen to headphones. You would also be better unplugging headphones if using the speaker as you may overdrive them. If you turn up the volume then it turns it up on both the headphone outputs.

So which interface?

Yeah, you are totally right. Thanks for the suggestion!
I will plug in the headphone and mixcube cable when I need it.
But I'm just glad that this is a solution and work-around I can live with smile)
Just have to remember to disconnect the headphones.

Yes, I'm talking about the Babyface Pro FS.
Do you think I'm overthinking which headphone outputs would be best for a mono-speaker and headphones?

Cheers and thanks again!

Since you can only really play one at a time it might be better just to put a switch between as lots of plugging and unplugging the way you are looking to do it. I would just use the 6.35mm socket as I find them a bit more robust

This is an excellent idea, thanks!!
Have my eyes on those two... have to read some reviews...

Input/Output wise the Swissonic has all the options I need. Great.

Re: 6,35 mm or 3,5 mm phone output to hook up my 2nd speakers

The only thing is neither of them say they have a headphone out. The Swissonic has a 3.5mm out but the spec says no headphone out but they could have got it wrong.  The https://www.thomann.de/gb/presonus_microstation_bt.htm says it’s 3.5mm out is a headphone output.
