Topic: Man! I love RME, just upgraded from 1 to UFX 2, I am in heaven.

I loved everything about RME UFX mk1.
Finally upgraded it to UFX II.

sold mk1 to a great engineer friend of mine.

Man! I cannot wait for my journey with UFX II.

Enjoy your new toy :-)

If you are building up everything newly, maybe you also want to implement only the routings that you require.
Makes IMHO more fun then, to work with matrix view to check routings etc.

Mr.Ramses! can I ask you about UFX ii?
I am stoked also want to know what I have more smile

I am definitely feeling, UFX ii sounds just... better... deeper... and cleaner if I shall say?
Also I am really really surprised by its headphone amp! from my good old ufx i headphone amp.
Big upgrade! big upgrade!

One thing I wanna know:
I really did not know much about chips!
and I stumbled upon many threads concerning about ESS chip v. AKM chip.

Could you enlighten upon this? smile
Should I care less about it?

Which chip is better? or is it subjective...?
what did your test say?
also how may I check which chip do I have on it...?



I am playing monitors through AES digital out though! straight into my GLM monitors.

I was actually gonna get ADI-2 fs converter for my main A/D conversion upgrade from ufx i.
But, I got myself ufx ii instead.

How would you say they compare to each other...?

ADI-2 fs a/d conversion v. UFX ii a/d conversion
ADI-2 fs headphone amp quality v. UFX ii headphone amp quality


I wonder! if I made great choice smile

Sorry, I do not have different devices to test. I assume that RME carefully selects the components and adheres to the specifications given in the manual.

I can also only confirm that the headphone outputs from the UFX+ are already very good (assuming UFX II has the same circuit if the technical specs are equal).

Have fun and don't go crazy on the converter topic. You say yourself, it sounds superb, what more could you ask for?

You have an excellent device and thus made a good choice.
