Topic: TotalmixFX Windows - 2 cards

Hi,

This may have been asked before, but I can’t find the answer!

I have one PC (Windows 10) with a motherboard that has both PCI and PCIe connections. I have a 9632 (PCI) card and a AIO (not PRO) (PCIe) card with analog in/out expansions boards fitted to the AIO card.

This all works fine and my TotalmixFX shows both cards properly using different tabs to show the individual card settings.

I would simply like to have ‘2 TotalmixFX windows’ one for each card, showing at the same time. Is this possible?

Whether you work with one TM FX window and switch between the two cards by using the pull-down menu
or whether you open an additional TM FX window and distribute the two windows on one or more screens
doesn't matter in terms of functionality. Most important, that it supports you and your workflow.

When you save the workspaces, the settings for both cards are stored, regardless of whether
you use one or more TM FX windows.

Do not forget to synchronize both cards and use the same ASIO buffer size (see Driver Settings).

Hi Ramses, I think that this is simply a Windows question - so are you saying that I should launch 2 TMFX instances? I guess then each one could show one card or the other. Is that how this works?

Yup, either two instances ("TM FX windows") or use the selector in the upper right and switch between those two cards.

One can not start two TM FX instances. But the File menu includes the entry 'New TotalMix window' which seemed to have been overlooked thus being unknown.
