Topic: WesAudio Titan 500 Series - Calypso ADAT + RME UFX III

Hey all, I recently purchased a WesAudio Titan 500 ng series chassis. It allows for digital recall of analog equipment - very sweet, highly recommended

The Calypso is a module that transfers the Titan's audio via ADAT into and out of an interface via ADAT. I have connected new optical cables from:

Calypso Input 1 to RME UFX ADAT 2 Output
and
RME UFX ADAT 2 Input to Calypso Output 1

I am running 48k and seeing Sync both in Madiface settings and on the Calypso unit. I also have a Ferrofish Pulse 16 connected via Madi.

When I route signal within TotalMix to any of the modules connected to the chassis, I only see Output signal on the Calypso LED. I can't seem to get signal routed into any of these modules.

If anybody has any tips, I would greatly appreciate your assistance.

Thank you,
Ed

Re: WesAudio Titan 500 Series - Calypso ADAT + RME UFX III

Isn't that more a question to WesAudio support if there is no audio signal being sent from the Calypso module
of the WesAudio Titan 500 Series rack towards the UFX III?

You're totally right, they seem to think it's an issue with my routing setup.

Before talking about routing on the UFX III you should be able to see the metering
of ADAT HW Inputs in TotalMix FX top row (whether audio arrives over ADAT2).

If you see no metering, then the device doesn't seem to send audio, then you should investigate further on the WesAudio side.

You can additionally validate the ADAT2 port of the UFX III and both TOSLINK cables, by plugging a loop
using the 1st and then the 2nd TOSLINK cable.
Simply connect ADAT2 OUT and ADAT2 IN with the TOSLINK cable and send audio to all 8 ADAT channels
(HW Output ADAT 9-16).

[ But, as we can see already "sync" on the ADAT input, I "assumed" that the ADAT Input/TOSLINK cable is ok.
Nevertheless, plug a loop to validate the TOSLINK cable and ADAT2 ports on the UFX III. ]

BTW thanks for the screenshot of driver settings.
It shows also, that
- UFX III is clock master, ensure that the connected device is configured as clock slave (to get clock from optical port, from the UFX III)
- ADAT protocol is being used (ok in this case)
- the UFX III receives a synchronized clock signal from the WesAudio on its ADAT2 input

Ramses, thanks again for consistently providing assistance on this forum. You are a hero to me and many other RME users smile

It turns out the issue is likely in the Titan chassis unfortunately. I am selling the Calypso and bought another Ferrofish 16 and will use that with ADAT for the same price and gain 8 additional analog I/O smile
