Topic: HDSPe MADIface - not playing back audio in MacOS Monterey

Hey all,

I have an older HDSPe MADIface connected to MacOS Monterey - via TB2 and the Sonnet PCMCIA to TB2 box. I have TotalMix v1.6 installed and the interface is coming up fine in MacOS. I have it connected via Coaxial MADI to a DAD AX32. The clocking is fine and the RME unit is set to slave.

The problem that I have is that when I select MADIface as my MacOS audio output I get absolutely nothing. Why could that be???
It goes without saying that the input is set to Coax on the hardware unit.

What am I missing here???

Re: HDSPe MADIface - not playing back audio in MacOS Monterey

Newest Totalmix is 1.99 You can download Totalmix directly from the software page. https://rme-audio.de/downloads/tmfx_mac_199.zip

What is your driver version and firmware of the unit ?

Also check driver extension switch :

MacOS system preferences / general / startup items and extensions
scroll down to driver extensions and hit the little i-icon right side.
A switch may reveal.
Make sure the RME driver is ON.

M1-Sequoia, Madiface Pro, Digiface USB, Babyface silver and blue

I assume you use an Intel Mac?

First you should update to the latest driver 4.25. It is unclear if 4.13 is running correctly on macOS 12, as it was developed under 10.15.

Next question would be - what is the firmware version of the HDSPe Express Card?
