Topic: Sonarworks systemwide clashes with Fireface/Digiface DK/Kernel driver
Hi, I recently bought the licence for Sonarworks and intended to use it as a systemwide calibration for my speakes/headphones. While everything seems to be working initially, some clashes starts to happen with the old fireface kernel driver. Audio from music player or daw wont reach the interface, as no readings from TotalMix can be found, once I am not loading any preset profile on the sonarworks software.
PS: Some notes before I describe the actual problem: I am currently running a 96k setup with both dante and madi bnc connected on Mac. Inputs from madi converter to my interface indicates signals are coming into my digiface dante but my daw can only read 2 of the channels from madi, in daw this would be input 65 and 66. All madi outputs from Digiface dante can be received by my converter. My master clock is the internal clock from Lynx aurora(n) shared across other dante converters and madi converters. As for firmware version, I am running the latest firmware I can get on the RME website, so I dont think there is any hardware problem
I will provide full timeline to my attempts to fix this, and if you happen to see my post and spot any problem during this please tell me :)
My fix to this was multiple attempts to delete all Sonarworks software, including the staged and conventional kernel extension and numerous other related .plist files and integrated VST plugins of Sonarworks. However when I use a command line (I forgot the exact line) to erase all staged kernel extension, problem persists and new issue is introduced—the daw can no longer send any audio from daw to digiface then to any of my converter. Before this inccident all audio sounds ok with some annoying coreaudio missing notice from soundid reference
So, I then move on to driverkit drivers in hope of fixing every problem as the package automatically deletes old kernel extension from the Terminal. However, some serious problem starts to appear once I enable the system extension in macos settings. The audio is coming out of my computer but still not every channel is usable. To make it worse, the audio quality is definitely not what it should be and it sounds as if Some "frames" of a continuous audio clip are missing (just like what DLSS can be these days). It also sounds kinda glitchy but not similar to the sound of a cpu usage spike, it happens alongside with
I have tried multiple times deleting kernel extensions or driverkit driver but problem is still there. I have also tried to flash a Class Compliant firmware but it also didnt work.
At this point I think I have tried everything I have seen or heard on any forum posts in order to solve this question but it seems that something might have not been deleted properly so clashes remain. I am really confused right now. It would be much appreciated if anyone has had this problem or reproduced this problem
Thank you
