Anyone else notice that MIDI selecting of hardware outputs (submixes) is disabled when the window isn't focused?

No. Works here without problems. Whether TM is in bg or not... (and "disable midi in background" checkbox is deselected).

Re: Room EQ, Crossfeed, Triple SPDIF - UFX+, UFX II, UFX III, UCX II

Hello, I’ve got a few questions about Room EQ and crossfeed I was hoping someone could answer. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. For context, I currently have an original UCX (so I can’t experiment for myself in TotalMix) but am considering an upgrade to the UCX II.

When crossfeed is enabled on a pair of channels being used in stereo configuration, is it still possible to use separate Room EQ and 3-band EQ settings for each of those channels? Or does enabling crossfeed link the EQs? I have a set of per-channel EQ curves from a custom Sonarworks headphone calibration that I’d be recreating a simplified version of, and I’d also like to use crossfeed.

I saw it mentioned that the 9-band Room EQ and crossfeed are both behind the additional 3-band EQ in the signal path, but I’m unclear on the order of the first two. Is the 9-band EQ after the crossfeed?

And finally, is there information published somewhere about the technical differences between the 5 crossfeed settings?

Yes.

No, Crossfeed is currently last, but was already requested to be placed before the 9-band EQ. We have plans to change that in a future (firmware) update.

In the UCX II manual, a bit more in the ADI-2 series manuals.

It's 20 channels, manual will be updated with some more stuff soon. And the number will not rise, sorry.

Hello, I am considering to buy UCX II exactly due to the standalone Room EQ feature - with EQ it became very relevant due to its small size and 20 output channels.  I would like to clarify some confusion after I read through the latest UCX II manual and all these Room EQ threads:

1 - does UCX II really have 20 independent output channels where all 20 output channels get the Room EQ?  (I am asking, because the current manual still states "A maximum of 16 channels of Room EQ")

2 - Are the Room EQ presets saved in Snapshots, just like 3-band EQ? This is super-important as I would like to switch Room EQ snapshots using ARC USB buttons.  (again I am asking, because the current manual still states "its settings are only saved in the Workspace")

3 - Any chance to add at least one all-pass filter or "phase rotation" in the Room EQ? (I can accept the 9-12 bands of EQ even if it is quite limited compared to many DSPs with 30 PEQs. What I am struggling with is how to do precise phase alignement for fully active speakers and multiple subs without all-pass filter or a "phase rotation" feature)

thank you.

No. The UCX II is the only unit in the series limited to 16 channels RoomEQ.

There is an option to do so (manuals will be fixed)..

AFAIK not possible, sorry.

Re: Room EQ, Crossfeed, Triple SPDIF - UFX+, UFX II, UFX III, UCX II

Thank you for clarification.  Not the best news, especially that all-pass filters are not to be expected in RME devices, but at least I understand what I am getting into.

Will try to make it work smile

Re: Room EQ, Crossfeed, Triple SPDIF - UFX+, UFX II, UFX III, UCX II

Hello!

Could somebody please confirm if Room EQ on UCX II is available in standalone and in Class Compliant modes?

Can it be configured without TotalMix, using only the display on the device itself?

Thank you.
