Topic: Help with HDSPe AOX-D installation Mac OS

I am having trouble installing an HDSPe AOX-D with MADI BNC Ext.  I am using a Sonnet Echo Express III thunderbolt expansion chassis to work with my 2018 Mac Mini Intel i7 Sonoma 14.6.1
The driver (v1.00) seems to install correctly, but I noticed right away that the BNC ext show as not connected.  Also, on the I/O routing tabs, it shows Milan and not Dante.  I tried to update the firmware, but it won't complete.  It will say firmware updated correctly, but after full power cycle, it will say firmware update not complete.  I completely uninstalled the driver per the manual, power cycled again, and did a full install again.  Same results.
Next, I tried installing with a different system (Mac Studio 2022 Apple M1 Ultra, Ventura 13.5.2) but got exactly the same results.
Many thanks

Is the expansion fully disconnected from mains power?

The expansion is fully disconnected from mains when I have done the full power cycles.

Can you try to do this with the card in a PC?

Re: Help with HDSPe AOX-D installation Mac OS

Thanks Daniel for the suggestion.  I did install the AOX-D card in a desktop PC and installed the drivers.  This is an Intel Windows 11 PC desktop.  Again, the driver looks to be successfully installed.  Also, this time under the routing section, it does show Dante this time instead of Milan from the MAC install.  Again, I used the FUT to update and got to where it says Successful, please shut down and reboot.  I again did a full power off, unplugged from mains power and then reboot.  The FUT now has shows HDSPe AOX (?) and status says not updated.  The PCI Core is revision 59 but the Network Processor says 0.0.0

Re: Help with HDSPe AOX-D installation Mac OS

I tried to install this card on a Windows PC, I get the same result, unable to update the firmware.  Any other ideas?  Should I send this to RME to see if firmware can be updated?  Much appreciated.

Re: Help with HDSPe AOX-D installation Mac OS

Please try a soft-reboot (instead of the complete power down), basically booting parts of the card a second time. Else please wait a few more days. We are currently examining (and fixing) this failure (and others around the FUT), which should result in a new firmware shortly.

Thank you, I will wait for the new FUT.  Thanks for your support

Hi cdrexl66,
I have sent you an email with instructions for an internal tool that verifies (and, in case set wrongly, fixes) a specific setting on the card.
Best regards,
Max
