Topic: Volume difference between Snapshots

For the life of me I can't figure out why audio playback on one snapshot is louder than the other.
Snapshot 1 is louder
Snapshot 2 is quieter
I even took screenshots of each and overlayed one on the other while reducing opacity to see if anything was vastly different.
All I could see is that one had 'loopback' on with the Main output channel.
But turning that off (in Snapshot 1) didn't do anything.

Can a fresh set of eyes take a look at this and let me know what I'm missing?

Click the tool/wrench button on the Main Out channel and check the Ref Level for both snapshots.

Information is missing; for what signals?

In Snapshot 4, the mic gain of Analog 1 and 2 is higher compared to Snapshot 5, volume levels differ,
Analog 1 is muted, and the volume levels for the submix are at infinity.
So there are differences, but due to mute and fader positions, you do not route audio from the mic inputs into the selected submix.

The difference is more likely here: the volume level of SW Playback AN 1+2 differs between Snapshot 4 and 5 (0 vs. -11.9).
But we see no audio in your screenshot; I can only assume that you use the first SW Playback channel for audio coming from PC.

And as Jeff pointed out, the reference level of Main Out (Analog 3+4) might be different as an additional factor here.

So I assume there are two possible reasons:
1. most likely you route audio from the PC (SW Playback AN 1/2) with different levels into the submix (Main Out, AN3+4)
2. you are maybe using different ref levels, but this can't be seen, as you didn't click the wrench symbol to make this visible.

SOLVED!: I just had the phones level lower on the one snapshot (snapshot 5).

And next time compare the Matrix view instead. It shows all routings at the same time, so differences are easier to see with complex setups or multiple submixes.
