Topic: TotalMix for iOS 10.3.3/iPad4/ FF800

Hello everybody!

I Have a FF800 connected to my MBP M1 (with Totalmix 1.75).
A friend of mine gave me an old iPad 4 with iOS 10.3.3.

I would like to control my TotalMix with this iPad, but in the AppStore is only available for iOS 12.0 and up.

Somebody knows if it's (still) possible to do that (and where I can find an old version of totalmix)  ?

Thank you.

For download older Totalmix (MacOS or Windows) simply edit the version number in the downloadlink.

But you are looking for older Totalmix for iPad iOS, right ? There is no download, you have to go thru the AppStore, may be the old iPad is too old ? Sure iOS is updated to the last ?

Not sure if there is a solution for the app store, but you need Totalmix Remote on the iPad, not Totalmix. And I'm not entirely sure offhand without checking whether that works with 1.75 and the FF driver you are using, could look into it tomorrow.

Thank you for your replies.

I never use an iPad before and I was hoping to download an old version of Totalmix remote ;-) outside of Appstore.
I can't upgrade to iOS 12.0 on this iPad and yes I still use FF800.
I'll try to find another solution… TouchOSC? Maybe… I will look ofr.
Thank you.

Re: TotalMix for iOS 10.3.3/iPad4/ FF800

You need to „purchase“ (although its free) the Totalmix Remote App with your own appleid once on an iPad running at least iOS 12.

Looks like your friend has a newer one? If so -  Ask him to login once with your appleid in App Store on his new iPad. Just to be able to get the app. You can logout afterwards, you can delete the app on his iPad afterwards.

Then, back on your legacy iPad, go to your account‘s „purchased“ apps and you’ll see the TM remote app. After hitting download, you’ll get a notification that you can only download the last compatible version… hit „OK“… Voila.

The „trick“ here is that the app has to be „purchased“/owned once via your appleid (or a family member-but that is another story).

Additionally it makes sense to use the latest TotalMix FX App v1.99 on your mac. Available as single file download in the RME downloads page. Select the software section on the right side there.

Re: TotalMix for iOS 10.3.3/iPad4/ FF800

Hello!
I'm reactivating this discussion because I've finally taken the time (for those interested) to install TouchOSC (mk1) on this old iPad 4 (10.3.3 max).

I installed the RME TotalMixiPadLV layout and everything seems to work fine over Wi-Fi.

However, inputs 1 and 2 aren't being recognized. The first channel on the iPad corresponds to input 03.
Does anyone know why?

Does anyone have a simpler template for FF800 (i.e., without effects)?

I'm going to see what I can do with TouchOSC Editor.
My goal is simply to mix and control the inputs when I'm playing drums away from my monitor…

Thank you (I remain fascinated by the possibilities still available for the FF800. Thank you RME!)

Re: TotalMix for iOS 10.3.3/iPad4/ FF800

1) Download an install TM v.1.99 (if you're still on 1.75) from https://rme-audio.de/downloads/tmfx_mac_199.zip
2) TotalMixiPadLV is from 2013 (!). Use Template TemplateOscPro4_11.touchosc instead. from http://www.rme-audio.de/downloads/tosc_ … mplate.zip  (iPad 4's resolution is 2048 x 1536 - the new Template will work)
3) In TM 1.99, in Mixer Settings in your OSC Controller set "Numbers of channels per Bank" to 12 and "Compatibility Mode" to 1.96
4) In TM 1.99, in Channel Layout, assure your Inputs 1/2 are not hidden by the "Hide Channel in" checkmarks
5) In iPad's TouchOSC (MK1) use the "< Channel" or  "Channel >" buttons (bottom right on Mixer Page) to navigate left/right in the current row
6) Download free TouchOSC (MK1) Editor for mac from https://hexler.net/touchosc-mk1#:~:text … 0download. , open template TemplateOscPro4_11, just select remove the unneeded/unwanted controls/effects. Save it, transfer it to your iPad.

Voila, thats it...
