Topic: rme digiface dante brick

Purchased a RME digiface Dante to be able to work with some plugins live via Dante

of course I let my computer running in virtual soundcheck mode to be sure that everything will be ok.

Today I have noticed that RME digiface no longer works... I purchase it last week from Thomann, I am a long rme user , this is the first time when this happens

What I discovered is that if just USB3 powerd ..it's a piece of brick..using the external trasnfrome to power it and it works...\\


What's the issue ..I don't want to carry the external power with me, I want to relay on the usb3 power, what's seems to be the issue?

Should I sent it back to Thomann?

I forgot to mention I am on an intel Mac 2015 with normal usb ports , OSX is Monterey 12.7.6

Can you test the unit with another computer or another USB port or cable?

not working on another  computer with USB3 ports...
I will have to buy a usb3 cable , because I don't have other on hand..., my ufx is on USB2..works for years..
A bit disappointed on this rme digiface Dante..

a quick update...does not work with it's one power adapter...led is green ..but does not appears on my Mac...
I will go buy a usb 3 cable...

looks like it works with a usb2 cable on another machine not on my laptop..though RME back led is yellow

I did  not know that a usb3 device can work with a usb2 cable...


so it was only the cable ?

if using a usb2 cable on my laptop it does not work , led is blinking green and yellow....
on another machine (desktop) works with usb 2 and led stays just yellow...

This is just a test to see if the unit is working at all, and it seems so. Try another USB 3 cable and call me in the morning... :-)

Changed the cable with a quality usb3 cable..works...now
