Topic: problems with digiface dante and usb3 panel mount connector

hello!
first, please excuse my funny english!

i put my digiface dante in rack, and deported the usb connection to the back with this exact usb panel mount connector from neutrik:

From the usb port of the digiface to the inside of the usb connector, there is a brand new usb cable from thomann, 30cm long.
Then, if i connect the outside of the pannel connector to my computer with a 1.5m usb cable, the digiface turns on, but the back LED never becomes blue and it never connects to the computer. with a shorter cable, (30cm) it is better, but sometimes it disconnects, sometimes it works well, sometimes the digiface is connected to the computer but as soon as a try to get some audio i will have a lot of FiFo errors, it's unstable and unpredictable. I sent the usb connector back to thomann and they sent me another one, same problems. I tried different usb cables, different length, different computers, with the digiface's external power supply, etc...

The only constant is : the longer the cable, the more problems there are.

If i remove this usb panel mount connector, and plug any computer directly to the digiface, everything works perfect, no matter the usb cable length.

has anyone successfully deported USB connection of a digiface? with neutrik connectors or any other brand?
i'm almost at a point where i want to buy a ton of cheap usb panel connectors on ali express and test them all, but if neutrik's one doesn't work, i don't have a lot of hope...

Could be a faulty neutric connector, did you ask for a replacement?

yep! this is the second one i test!
(but hey i'm just thinking maybe they sent me back the same one???)

well, they sent me another one (and this time i'm sure it's another one because i still have the first)
same problems, it only kind of works with very short usb cables (but lot of fifo errors, so not usable)
with long usb cable, the digiface lights up but never shows up in the computer

as soon as i remove the usb adapter from the equation, everything works perfectly, whatever the usb cable length is.

this is very frustrating since in the comments on thomann, users report to use it with sucess with other rme products...
