Re: DigiCheck NG 0.93 beta 5 – public preview Mac / Windows
I've been using beta 5 for a couple days now and can't see any obvious issues anymore. Works reliably and latency is very good on 4k fft size.

Hello, Spectroscope is indeed a very useful tool, and I am glad to see it added to Digicheck. At present, I hope it can be arranged in a window like in the picture (using only a 4-in-1 window), and support adjusting the frequency scale. I usually judge whether an audio file is "lossless" by observing the attenuation of high frequencies, so 10kHz~20kHz (even higher than 20kHz) is the range I focus on, which is very important and commonly used in mixing work.

DigiCheck NG 0.93 is now released for Mac and Windows, see updated links in first post.
It's brilliant MC!!
Thank you for the great new additions!
I'm desperately missing the "Always on top" option from the old Digicheck ![]()
And I've got Spectrogram questions:
1. FFT Size: How does '16384' differ from '16384 w. 8k Win'?
2. Is there any chance for a 'Display Speed' mode that relates to tempo in bpm?
2.1 Or how can I calculate pixels to tempo?
3. Is there any way you could implement the Spectrum Analyzers' 25hz-band magic to display dc information?
Thanks for 0.93. I am running RME UFX+ on MacOS Ventura. In Digicheck NG I am unable to select "Add playback channels" in Audio device setup. When I activate loopback on Hardware output AN1/2 in Totalmix it works fine. I am using the latest thunderbolt driver.
I am using the latest thunderbolt driver.
Afaik, you need to use the USB DriverKit driver (and connect your UFX+ via USB as well) to be able to select the Playbacks in DigiCheck NG.

How did you manage to divide the interface in 3 horizontal parts? I can only see two
Thanks for the update, my workspace #25.

I used two DC NG Windows and saved this as a workspace :-)
Before saving, click on the top window; this hides the Windows title of the 2nd window below.
hello,
i am loving digicheck NG immensely using it everyday here. thank you so much for making it so useful and fantastic!
i have a couple of feature requests.
1. i would like the oscilloscope to be able to change the width of the scope, or the width adjusted to the window size. now the ratio of hight and width are maintained and i would like to make the width longer. also to allow vert. positions in floating point so that i can separate stereo vertically and use up maximum space.
2. it would be great if digicheck automatically checks which RME device is connected and change the device accordingly. i always have to manually change the device in audio device setup between home and studio. i know it is only one step change haha. but if that's possible, the transition of physical spaces/devices are super smooth.
thanks!
Hi MC and team. I'm getting used to the entirely new Digitcheck NG for windows. It's much more functional but takes some getting used to.
I'm on v 0.93. There's one thing that I think was available in the previous Digicheck that is not apparently available in the new NG. Previously I was able to see a numeric oversample over level. The top level in the K-14 meter was +17 and I could read a numeric +14.1, 14.2, etc. as the amount of intersample over. Now I can't seem to read a numeric over, just the graph. When it's over +14 (0 dBFS true peak) the last segment goes white, but I do not have a numeric value on it.
I made a screenshot but I don't think I can post an image. It's basically a K-14 picture with +14 at the top.
Hello BobKatz
For screenshot you have to upload it to the internet with a public image service like imgbb or imgur.
It gives you a link, open this in your browser,
right-click the image
copy image-address
paste image-address between img tags in the forum post.
Are you the K-14 inventor ? Cool.
I see - the option OVS is not available when K-system is selected. We'll check that.
Previously I was able to see a numeric oversample over level.
We looked at this. Even with K-System off and Intersample Peak (TP) on, the +3dB overage headroom is visible only when Reference Level is between -9 and -0 dB, and disappears at lower reference levels (like -12, -14, or -20 dB as in K-System).
The Help documentation concurs: "For reference levels above -10dB, the display range is therefore extended upwards by 3dB."
Why not for lower reference levels?
I'd like to do a feature request (or two).
For the two AOX-D interfaces I have I'd like to use them seperately for the 'global overview' for all 256 input channels of each interface. It's really helpfull to see all the IO inputs to track down routing or bad connection issues.
Sorry to post: I'm puzzled. I'm trying to carefully watch the betas to see if/when the numeric display of intersample peak will be fixed. Also to restore the "stay in front" option.
But I'm not certain if I have the right version of Digicheck NG installed! My "about" menu says it's version 0.93 and nothing about the Beta. And when I run the installer for Beta 5, it says, "newer version is already installed". Do I have the beta 5 installed? The zip for beta 5 is labeled "digicheck_ng_win_093b5.zip" and contains an installer simply labeled "SetupDigicheckNG.msi" which gives me the error "a later version is already installed". Is this a nomenclature error?
As far as I remember Bob, the betas all came out BEFORE the official 0.93, so I think you already have the latest version, plain old 0.93.

10 months, not that old

Thanks. That of course explains my puzzle. So, hoping that MC can address my two concerns.
I like DigiCheck NG. But has anything yet been done to avoid the problem that requires renaming lastStateAnalysis.xml to .old?
