Topic: AES/EBU any difference UFX v 802 FS?
I joining the digital world for my speakers. I have the RME UFX and the 802 FS both have a two channel AES output. Is there any advantage in using one over the other? I am assuming not.

You are assuming right, the AES outputs deliver the same digital signal.
The devices have different features you may want to compare.
Helpful is this comparison excel sheet :

There are no functional or quality differences as waedi mentioned.
The only difference is when it comes to SPDIF support.
802 FS, UFX II, UFX+ and UFX III support "triple SPDIF", the product page calls it "multi mode".
This means that the two ADAT I/Os can be used as separate optical SPDIF inputs and outputs in addition to the AES I/O.
It was introduced in January 2024 by a firmware update for the devices mentioned above; it was not possible for the UFX.
@ramses, @waedi thanks for that.
