Topic: UCX II split headphone out levels

Hi, I'm using the room eq to apply a PEQ derived from REW to my headphone out.  In order to squeeze in one extra band of control, I enabled the channel EQ, but to have independent left/right control, I split phones L/R from stereo into independent channels.   Now for the level option, Phones L shows High (the options are Low and High), while Phones R shows +13 dBu (the options are +4, +13, and +19).  If I change left to Low, then right changes to +4, and if i change it to High, right changes to +13.  Changing the right to +4/+13 also triggers the corresponding change on the left channel (setting right to +19 doesn't have any effect on the left channel).

This is seems a bit strange to me because the manual says:

20.2 Headphones / Line Out
Channels 7/8 of the Fireface are available on the front as 1/4" TRS jack. These channels use the
same converters as the other Line outputs, therefore offer the same technical data.

Two hardware-based reference levels are available (set in TotalMix Output Channel Settings,
Level, High or Low). High equals the setting +19 dBu of the other channels, Low equals +4 dBu
(see table above). They can thus also be used as high-quality, unbalanced line outputs.

These outputs are special low impedance types (1 Ohms), perfectly suited for headphone use.

When I run a loopback connection and monitor the input in Reaper, the left and right output signals are identical.  This post has gone from a question to more of a rubber ducking session while writing it, so I now think I've now convinced myself that this is just a UI bug and nothing to be concerned about, but am I perhaps missing something more fundamental?  Thanks!

Re: UCX II split headphone out levels

The Phones only have a common ref level for both channels. This is better shown in the latest TM FX 2.01, where the right channel doesn' have that setting anymore.

Thanks, Matthias.  That's a good reminder that I'm a bit out of date on this computer - still running v1.99...
