Topic: How let ADI-2 DAC back to default bitrate after music play?

My setup:

PC (9800X3D w/ 64G 6400MHz D5)
->
RME ADI-2 DAC Fs  w/ MADIface @ 24bit 96kHz
->
ATH BHA100

The Problem is

When I play music in MusicBee with ASIO, it can make ADI-2 auto switch bitrate perfectly.
but when I press Ctrl + S in MusicBee make it release ASIO control, MADIface will stuck at latest playing file's bitrate (for example 44.1kHz)

and becasue this, everytime need manual change back to 24/96 when I want to listen Amazon Music (it can't auto change bitrate lol)

is there any way to make it auto change back to default setting bitrate (24/96)? Looks MusicBee have a plugin call "Even Commands" can auto excute script or software after playing music.

but looks no API or other thing can remote control ADI-2? (and even it have, I think it can't change because MADIface control the bitrate as admin)

You can try to use HiFi-Cable and ASIO Bridge:

It serves as a bridge between WDM and ASIO, bypassing Windows limitations.

Thank you for your reply. May I confirm if your configuration is as follows?

System Output: Hi-Fi Cable @ 24/96

Audio Software Output: ADI-2 (Let Driver auto switch)

In this scenario, if music is playing while other system sounds are also active, which sample rate will be used?

You need to combine HiFi-Cable and ASIO Bridge for automatic SR switching.
Still, there are some practical limitations.

Other than Windows WDM, which uses individual sample rate conversion on every active player’s stream, the above solution can only use one source at a time if SR’s are different.

Setting the Amazon player to WSAPI Exclusive is the better option, if available.

Looks my setting have some issue

[Now]
Windows out put: Hi-Fi cable @ 24/96
MusicBee: MADIface ASIO (auto switch bitrate)
Audirvana: MADIface ASIO (auto switch bitrate)]
Amazno Music: Hi-Fi cable @ 24/96 (because Amazon Music is fake Exclusive mode, it never change bitrate)

Play music in browser: can hear sound
but after stop music / video in browser and open MusicBee or Audirvana, won't play any sound untill I turn off ASIO Brige

(by the way, Hi-Fi cable output not show in both MusicBee and Audirvana)

Because you selected ASIO, Hi-fi-Cable is WDM.


If you’re out for convenience, set Windows WDM fixed to 192 kHz and play all through Windows WDM (not Hi-fi Cable)
Windows, with quite OK quality, will resample everything to 192 kHz which is the optimal SR for ADI-2.

So, you loose a little on the Windows side (not too much), and gain a little on the DA-conversion, as the DA-filter is way out of the audio range.
