Topic: Aox-D Headphones output stopped working

Aox-D Headphones output stopped working. I was using it as an output for the multiclock that uses an audio input for time synchronisation. Since I have a dual Aox-D setup I'm using the 2nd headphones output.

I've made a setup where the DAW send the same clock signal to both headphones outputs with the same configuration.
Checking the outputs with a headset was clear that the first one didn't put out a signal and the second on did. But if the headphone outputs are that brittle it may happen to the other headphones output as well.

Did you use a mono (TS) cable? That would have shorted one channel. A TRS to 2 x TS (or XLR), also called insert cable, is required here.

I do use a TRS cable. But I did inserted it while the card was powered.

We would need the card to check what is going on here. The headphone output stage uses a dedicated headphone driver chip, short circuit proof, plus a serial resistor of 10 Ohms (even more short-circuit safe), plus additional ESD protection (additional to the one already within the chip).

With a TRS cable there is no obvious reason why the phones output should fail, and you can insert it whenever you want.

I thought as much.

After rebooting the system the behaviour didn't change. So most likely something electrical is not going on anymore.
But shipping the card for investigation currently is not an option since I"m using it all the time and I have a workaround.
It's still a N=1 issue. IF the second Aox-D fails it will be upgraded to N+1.
