Topic: FR: More layers for USB ARC
Hello forum,
It's great to see that the remote capabilities of Total Mix are being expanded continuously. As phantastic as this is, it seems to cannibalise the use of the USB ARC. It seems that a cheap MIDI controller or a Launch Pad has more possibilities to control TMFX than this dedicated hardware controller.
I have some feature requests that could greatly expand the possibilities of this great piece of hardware.
Firstly: add a Shift key or a command for a secondary (or third) layer that allows to double (or triple) the amount of functions assigned to the controller.
Make it possible to assign and trigger two commands with one button press.
Make it possible to open DigiCheck NG from the USB ARC
Add a function to select and run a (Apple)script by pressing a key.
And lastly:It would really be great if the buttons on the unit could be set to a constantly illuminated but dimmed state. This is the state during a firmware update. Background: It is really easy to pull off the caps of the buttons and install a transparent sticker behind the caps. However, this is only useful when the button is lit. The printed writing next to the buttons is not helpful in a dark studio.
I really would like to hear what other users of this hardware and RME has to say about these ideas.
