Topic: Adi 2 dac fs and Digicheck NG

Hello everyone,

I ask myself a question:

Why can't I view the playback outputs of my ADI 2 dac fs

On Digicheck NG . all options are checked:

USB source ok

Loopback OK

Only problem in Digicheck input select the add playback Channels box is inactive and grayed out.

I specify that I only encounter this problem with the ADI 2 dac fs.

I'm on Mac OS apple 4 pro

Thanks to you

I can't find these options in Digicheck, you probably mean ADI-2 remote app ?

Re: Adi 2 dac fs and Digicheck NG

Yes you are right on ADI 2 remote the USB and loopback options are activated.

On the other hand when I open Digicheck I can't monitor the output of the Adi 2 dac fs.

"Add playback" is enabled but grayed out in the Digicheck audio device setup tab.

Re: Adi 2 dac fs and Digicheck NG

I don't have this problem with my Baby face pro fs.

Of course.

The Babyface runs with a driver software who is connecting to Digicheck NG.

Re: Adi 2 dac fs and Digicheck NG

Well then how can I use digicheck out of my Adi 2 dac fs.

Is it possible?

Thank you cordially

Re: Adi 2 dac fs and Digicheck NG

Guys! Loopback! Where is the playback signal then? Still on the playback side? Or maybe (!) the record input side? Aaaaaahhh!

Not to mention the manual clearly explains the loopback function. Page 11.

Re: Adi 2 dac fs and Digicheck NG

OK, I hear all your remarks. on the one hand by reading the manual that is not really clear about it... there are passages indicating that we can only monitor the spdif in signal. and on the other hand given your various remarks it seems very logical to monitor the USB out signal through ADI 2 remote by selecting the USB source in input and activating LOOPBACK. my question is always the same: why when I open DIGICHECK the signal is cut off and why it is impossible for me to activate "add playback channels" in the "audio device setup" tab Of Digicheck.

Re: Adi 2 dac fs and Digicheck NG

May you provide a screenshot from ADI-2 remote app ?
Loopback has nine options pre or post FX which one did you activate ? Take the first one Pre FX to 1/2
In Digicheck instrument input select input channels 1/2

Playback channels in DigicheckNG are not available due to missing driver by class-compliant device usage.

Re: Adi 2 dac fs and Digicheck NG

I can't attach a screenshot.

In any case, I only have 4 options for the loopback, namely: OFF, PRE FX, POST FX, POST -6db.

My choice is indeed PRE FX.

On the digicheck side I have no choice but SPDIF. Would there be a driver problem for the ADI 2 DAC FS?

Re: Adi 2 dac fs and Digicheck NG

Nobody can attach a screenshot for this forum. You have to upload the image to the internet with a public image service like imgur or imgbb.
This responds a link, open the link, right-click the image
copy image-address
paste image-address between img tags in the forum post.

This SPDIF has also channel numbers ? select the numbers 1/2

Re: Adi 2 dac fs and Digicheck NG

Thanks for all these photos, unfortunately I can't see an issue.
i don't know why there is SPDIF only but it seems to be what you have to select and the signal should be there.

I did check the ADI-2 remote app here without any ADI-2 thats why the options for Loopback is nine (The ADI-2 remote app covers all
ADI-2 devices including ADI-2/4 pro)

@Lolot500

Maybe stupid question, but.....

Concerning DigiCheck and selection of input channels. Have you clicked on Device Channel field? In your case SPDIF L or SPDIF R. That should open a list of available inputs. At least it does so on Win and I expect it will be the same on Mac.

Again, from the manual:
Note: The option Loopback to USB replaces the SPDIF input signal with the USB playback signal, either taken pre or post DSP. The input signal coaxial/optical is then no longer available for recording.

So you have to select SPDIF In L and R to see the USB playback signal in DIGICheck. There is no support for direct playback monitoring on Mac with ADI-2, so no playback channels selectable, and the exact reason we added the Loopback function.

DC NG should NOT be set to change the sample rate! Remove the checkmark at 'Set Sample Rate'. The signal 'cut-off' on opening is most probably caused by the set sample rate option in DC NG.

Re: Adi 2 dac fs and Digicheck NG

OK guys,

Obviously it doesn't work with the ADI 2 dac FS.

I tried everything, followed your advice. As soon as I open Digicheck the sound cuts off loopback option triggered or not.

I specify that I have never had this problem with my other RME equipment.

Please try to be more specific about what exactly happens. Does this happen with any playback software?

Re: Adi 2 dac fs and Digicheck NG

Good morning,

Obviously it doesn't work when the source is in USB. When opening digicheck the sound cuts off.

On the other hand when the source is SPDIF Digicheck works properly. If I understand correctly the ADI 2dac fs and digicheck only works with the SPDIF

Re: Adi 2 dac fs and Digicheck NG

I do that with the Baby and UCX it works.

Too bad for the ADI 2 dac fs
