Topic: TotalMix FX and SSL UF8 controller surface

Hello,

Is anyone using the SSL UF8 successfully to Control faders in total mix? If so, could someone please let me know if there is a tutorial or if there are any set up procedures please? I can’t seem to find any… And I’ve tried to follow the instructions, based on Using MIDI CC etc and Mackie Control…. But I definitely do not have some settings correct because I am not getting any communication

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you so much

Totalmix menu Options : Enable Midi control - enable it
Totalmix menu Options / Settings... Tab MIDI : Mackie control options - enable protocol support - enable it
Totalmix menu Options / Settings... Tab MIDI : select input and output port (the same ports has to be selected in the SSL configuration)
Totalmix menu Options / Settings... Tab OSC : Set the input and output ports according to the SSL
use the SSL 360° software for the configuration of the SSL

M1-Tahoe, Madiface Pro, Digiface USB, Babyface silver and blue

This does not work for me, the OSC tab has network port settings and I'm connecting the UF8 and Digiface USB via USB.

Only fader 7 does anything, if I move the UF8's fader 7, the Monitor fader moves, but nothing else happens.

Can someone PLEASE direct me to a tutorial, guide, video or any source of information?

Update - I can get the UF8 faders to move the faders in TotalMix by assigning the appropriate CC numbers in the SSL 360 app, but I can't get the faders in TotalMix to move the UF8's faders. Neither can I get the UF8's display to show meter levels. I'me sure this must be possible - can someone at RME please help?

Did you resolve this? I'm looking into buying SSL DAW controllers with a RME audio interface and am wondering how Totalmix interacts and combines with the 360 app.

I've not resolved this completely yet, but I have a kind of work-around. I've set up the UF8 in CC mode and linked my hardware inputs with the UF8's faders. Move a fader on the UF8 and the appropriate fader moves in Totalmix. Doesn't work the other way though, which is frustrating. I'm working on getting the mute and solo buttons to work next, that would be a major step forward. I'll report back if I get any success.
