Topic: Control Dante tunel over PCIe on HDSPE AoX-D

Hi, The RME Digiface Dante uses an internal USB Ethernet network connection to tunnel control data so you can access the Dante network and Dante Controller via the same USB cable connected to your computer. Same function has for example Focusrite with PCIeNX card over PCIe.

Can we expect the HDSPe Dante to receive this as well—for instance, via a firmware update?

This is not technically possible with the AOX-D card, because the network processor is completely separate from the audio engine. It can even restart while the driver and the PCIe connection continues to run stable. To use the card exclusively as a Hammerfall audio card and not as a combined network and audio card, has great advantages in stability, even if it is uncomfortable to use an additional network adapter.
