Not as a browsable forum, but I have an archive up to 12-23-08, created with an old Netscape version. It's an snm file, which can probably be imported into Thunderbird for offline browsing.

If anyone is willing to host it on their server and publish the link here, I'll let you have it (unless MC protests...). It's a 38 MB zip file (190 MB uncompressed).

Wow... good to know it exists. I thought I had it in the Netscape newsreader - turns out it's just headers from March 2001 to January 2009: 75,617 posts! Anyway, thanks and someone please host this.

I also saved it offline using a virgin-fresh Thunderbird early in January, but I don't know how to export it.

It took seven hours to download so I'm fairly certain it isn't just headers. 

I'm no Thunderbird expert, and it's been saved on a fresh laptop I never use, so it should be perfect if someone has instructions.

Let me know how to do that and we'll work out a torrent or SendSpace and it's all yours.

as far as i know, netscape smn files are just plain ASCII text files (as in ".txt"). so it shouldn't be a problem to look at even in a browser.

(notepad might go on strike if the file size exceeds a certain limit though.) edit: yeah, 190 MB would be a little big : DD . Maybe put it on archive.org?
