Topic: Clocking via Digiface or ADI-8 Pro?

I have a small touring system with a Digiface/Cardbus and 2 Octamic-Ds for mic inputs and an ADI-8 Pro for line inputs and all mix outputs  Could you please tell me what your recommendation is for which unit should provide the master clock?

Do they all use the same clocking technology, and therefore it doesn't matter?

Intelligent Clock Control vs SteadyClock?

Should I rely on ADAT to supply the clock to any of the units?

Thanks,
Ira

DF master, ADI-8 clocked via ADAT as slave, OctaMics clocked via WC as slave.

Thank you.

So Digiface settings should be:
Clock Mode - Master
Pref Sync Ref - Word Clock

ADI-8 Pro settings should be:
Clock section: AD - set to input; DA - set to input
(no setting on the rate)

With these selections, SyncCheck shows Sync on all ADAT Inputs.

Is SyncAlign in the WDM section of any use for my setup?

Much thanks,
Ira

Pref Sync Ref - not active when in Master mode, so doesn't matter.

SyncAlign is only useful in some very specific cases and not under ASIO. I have it always on, though.
