Topic: adding 2nd ff800 on fw400?

Hi all, I have a ff 800 running into c/base 5 on a win 7 pc.
For a while I was getting what I now realise were bandwidth problems. (buzzing noises from unit or sudden lack of all sound) I switched the ff to just analogue and spidif and it has been fine since.

Would adding a second unit ff800 and limiting the bandwidth to the same (I only want 16 audio channels) work on the fw400 card in my comp or will the two units swamp it?

If it dosnt work with the units twinned into one fw400 in, the card i put in the comp has 2 fw400 ins, would using one ff800 on each work?

I have a FF800 and two, connected via ADAT, Focusrite Octopre LE's running through FW400 without any problems.

I have two FF800's running through the Firewire 400 connection with just analog inputs activated on each.  I only use the four preamp inputs on each for remote recording, but I have not had any problems.  Not exactly the same load as your question, but verification that it can be done with all eight preamp inputs.  Hope this helps.
