Topic: Cardbus power supply - 4.0A?

hello,

my original cardbus power supply stopped working, so i ordered a replacement from B&H.  i received this power supply as the replacement:

Ktec - KSAFH1200400T1M2   with an output of 4.0A

i read on this forum before that RME replaced the original 1.25A supply with a 2.0A supply, but this is quite a bit more than that.  the supply is also considerably heavier than my old one making it more of a pain to travel with.

did B&H make a mistake?  it was in a bag with the correct sku (NTCB-US), but i don't want to ruin my RPM box by plugging this thing in until someone from RME tells me it is okay.

This power supply has been shipped for a short time as replacement for the other (smaller) one, which wasn't available then. So it is 'official'.

Re: Cardbus power supply - 4.0A?

I am also looking to order this supply, as I didn't get one at all with my Fireface 400 that I bought used.  Based on the pictures I see on various sites, including B&H Photo, it doesn't appear that this part number (NTCB-US) includes the portion of the power supply that plugs the "wall wart" into the electrical outlet.  Is that true?  Do I need to order this part separately, and if so, can you tell me the model number I should order?

Thanks,
Jeff

As long as the word "regulated" appears on this psu it's fine.  4 amps are available, you only need to draw 2 of them.  No problem.
