Topic: UCX: cannot turn my UCX off
I am using UCX with a power supply and a Firewire cable.
I cannot turn my UCX off with the power switch.
It's working even the switch is set to "off".
Could anyone give me advice of why this happens?

It is because Firewire supplies bus power. The switch on the UCX does not affect this, it only switches the supply of power from the external power supply.

Thank you for your reply.
What way do you recommend to do, when I do not use the UCX?
I usually do not turn my MacBook Pro off, but just close the display and make it sleep. Therefore the UCX remains active.
There is nothing wrong with keeping the UCX on. If you wish to be able to turn it off, you could connect it to USB and use external power...

OK, I'll keep it on. Thanks!
RME Support: It is because Firewire supplies bus power. The switch on the UCX does not affect this, it only switches the supply of power from the external power supply.
But how does this explain the fact that when even when my Mac is turned off, the UCX is still on? I use only firewire for power supply and do not use the external supply.
Thanks in advance.

Same on my Mac an the FF400 - the Mac keeps providing bus power even when switched off...
