Topic: Unable to get input signal in DAW via UFX

Hello
I am new to this but am unable to get a guitar signal to register in daw software.
The input moves through UFX and MacBook pro and can monitor in phones/monitors but when a recording track is armed, no signal is registered in the software.
Could anyone advise the routing path/options required in total mix for currently GarageBand to see input signal. Fireface is selected as both input and output device in GarageBand preferences.
Probably really obvious solution, please help

TotalMix can never stop the signal from going to software. Check your audio device setting in the app.

Where do you have your guitar plugged in? If it's one of the 4 UFX preamps you have to have that particular channel enabled in your DAW. The pre channels are 9 thru 12.

Apologies for the late response...life getting in the way of making music again!!
Thanks w1awb, yes I was in fact using one of the four preamps (channel 9) as input.
Needed to set input in OS X's Audio MIDI set up utility to Mic/Inst 9-12, as there was no provision to select channel 9 inside the app. That worked.
