Topic: 22 DURec tracks @ 24/96!

I am testing my UFX' DURec recording abilities with a 128Gb Crucial SSD (Amazon USA, $105.00 #CT128M4SSD2). After one hour of recording, with all 22 tracks enabled, the front panel reads USB 52% and errors 0.

I have tried this same test with an older/slower SSD and several CFs which failed for 22 tracks but were fine for a few tracks. Since this is the data "Full Monty." I asume that the USB % capacity is an important parameter. Other tests showed the USB % at or close to 100% as errors mounted quicky and DURec dropped out of record. In this case the % reading is, unvaryingly, stable at 52%.

Will continue for another two hours. Next Tuesday I will record my live swing band with full modulation-in case that makes a difference. But I fully expect that I will have a full backup to my buggy Pro Tools 10 session that occassionally crashes. Congratulations to the RME team!!

Nice!! What enclosure are you using this drive in? Do you know the chipset of the enclosure?

Just an inexpensive 2.5" enclosure. It has both an detachable eSata cable and a captive USB.

Eagle Tech ET-CS2PESU2-BK 2.5-Inch SATA to USB/eSATA Portable HDD Enclosure w/Built-in USB cable
by Eagle Tech @ Amazon for about $20. No idea of the chipset and its importance.

Recorded a live session today of 22 tracks @24/96 (with modulation) for approx 110' No errors.
