Topic: Fireface UC and Mainstage problem

Hi,

I am having issues with Mainstage 2.2.2 and Fireface UC, driver 1.69.  I am using a Mac Mini Server, i7 quad 2.0Ghz, 8 gigs RAM, with OSX 10.7.4, secondary Hard Drive a SSD 6Gb/s, all audio files on this drive.

I turned screen saver off, hard drive never sleeps, and many other tweaks.

If I leave the system on overnight, the next day the audio doesn't play, it glitches.  Even, sometimes after 30 minutes of not playing, I get those glitches.

I seemed to be the only person to have this problem on the Mainstage forum, until one person with the exact same setup as me wrote that he experienced the same behaviors.

This is where I suspect the Fireface UC to be the problem.

An ideas?

I updated today to the latest driver: 1.72

I'll see if it solved some problems

Thanks

Re: Fireface UC and Mainstage problem

I seem to be having a similar problem with a Digiface running Mainstage on the same Mac Mini Server.

The problem seemed to start after I upgraded OS X to 10.7.4.  Also, Logic locked up after running it immediately after installing the 10.7.4 upgrade, but this hasn't happened since.

Did your problems start after installing the OS X 10.7.4 upgrade?

Re: Fireface UC and Mainstage problem

The problems always happened.  I was 10.7.2, 10.7.3, now 10.7.4.

What worked best under 10.7.3 was to upgrade the UC driver to 1.69

Now with 10.7.4 and Driver 1.72 it is much worse.  Now the glithes happens every day.

Re: Fireface UC and Mainstage problem

I would really like some help here, as the system is now unusable.  I will have to downgrade to 10.7.3 and driver 1.69.

Re: Fireface UC and Mainstage problem

Today I had no issue with Mainstage, I downgraded to 10.7.3 and driver 1.69.  Normally, after each set the sound was glitchy I had to restart.

I'll stay on these versions until I am positivethere is a fix.

Re: Fireface UC and Mainstage problem

In case of it happening again: Is this Mainstage 1 or 2?

Re: Fireface UC and Mainstage problem

It is very frustrating when there is no solution.

How can I know where the problem comes from?

Re: Fireface UC and Mainstage problem

Here is hope that the new driver 1.73 fixes the problems reported in this thread:

Please try it. The driver also includes the latest TotalMix FX 0.983.

Re: Fireface UC and Mainstage problem

Ok thanks, I will try it today.

Usually it takes 2 to 4 days to get glitches.  I'll see if it fixed it.

Re: Fireface UC and Mainstage problem

Thanks MC, Since last week, no glitches, the system is good.  I stayed with OSX 10.7.3, though.

Re: Fireface UC and Mainstage problem

It will work with 10.7.4 or 10.8 as well. The driver has just been released.

Re: Fireface UC and Mainstage problem

Scared to come back to 10.7.4, it didn't work at all with 1.72...  really the system was unusable
