Topic: Fireface 800 cuts out for a few seconds on mac pro

Hello,

I'm using a Fireface 800 with a Mac pro 2009 quad-core, every few hours the audio will cut out and the fireface mixer will re-open itself after a few seconds of no audio and then the audio will continue working. Any ideas? I'm running the latest drivers from RME.

Something interrupts the FireWire connection. Do you have other FireWire devices plugged into the Mac Pro?

Yes, I have a Lacie FW800 drive plugged into the other FW800 port on the mac pro.

The other port is still wired to the same FW chip inside the computer. See if you still have problems with the drive disconnected.

No problem. You can add a PCIe FireWire card to separate the FF from other devices.
