Topic: CD playback via RME Fireface 800...?

Looking to upgrade my DAW interface from a Digi 003R+ to an RME Fireface 800...

In addition to recording/mixing I also listen to all my music on CD by connecting an Arcam CD player into the aux inputs of the Digi 003R (so acting as a standalone preamp for the CD player) & then my studio monitors (BM-6a's) are my 'hi-fi' speakers. Having the 'Aux In' button on the front of the Digi 003R makes this very easy/convenient to operate...

So my question is: can I easily do the same with an RME Fireface 800 (accepting of course that I'll be without the handy 'Aux In' button) and use it as a standalone 'hi-fi' pre-amp???

Any help from RME Fireface 800 users gratefully received!

Many thanks!

Yes, you can route any input to any output and it works in standalone mode.
You can even connect a MIDI controller to change all those settings without computer.

Watch a few TotalMix tutorials to understand the extensive capabilities of these interfaces!
