Topic: Increase Latency Buffer Size for FireFace800?

Yes ... I want to increase latency buffer size beyond the 1024 samples on the Fireface800.
Running at 100% cpu load even at 1024 samples, overclocked on the cpu as well to 4.5ghz.
It would be amazing if there is a way to increase the latency buffer size...
from 2200 samples, 3300samples, 4400samples, 5500 samples and so on?

This was brought up before but no one answered the poor guy, so I appreciate any reply from RME or users. smile

We answered several times already that this is a hardware limitation of the FF 800, means it will not change.

It should also be noted that on systems where larger buffer sizes ARE allowed, going beyond a certain size can be counter-productive.

Not trying to run at a silly high sample rate, are you?  :-)

Re: Increase Latency Buffer Size for FireFace800?

Thanks for your reply - a shame because the Fireface800 is a great piece of gear, and having a wider latency range would make it even better. Exactly which part of the hardware is causing the limitations? Just curious...

I am simply running at 44.1, but with the load of VSTs running at once, not having a wider buffer range is causing counter-productivity. When I was running on the old EMU1212m, the buffer range was very wide, so you could move in and out of the latency you needed for your current project. THAT IS ALL HAVE A GREAT WEEK!
